CREDIT TRANSFER COLLABORATION PROGRAM BETWEEN HANOI UNIVERSITY OF CIVIL ENGINEERING AND UNIVERSITY OF HUDDERSFIELD (UNITED KINGDOM)

1. General Information

  • The University of Huddersfield, established in 1825, is located in the heart of Huddersfield – a historic, friendly city with one of the lowest living costs in the UK. It is less than an hour’s drive to Liverpool, Leeds, York, Manchester, and Birmingham.
  • Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE) has signed a bilateral Credit Transfer Collaboration Program (Mapping Program) with the University of Huddersfield (UK) at both undergraduate and postgraduate (Master's) levels.
  • Degrees from the University of Huddersfield are awarded and recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam.

2. Credit Transfer Conditions

  • Students who have been admitted to Hanoi University of Civil Engineering can join the program from their 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA requirement: 6.0 on a 10.0 scale.
  • English proficiency requirement: IELTS 6.0 (no skill below 5.5).

4. Structure of the Credit Transfer Program

a. Construction Economics and Urban Management (3+2 Model)

  • First 3 years: Study at Hanoi University of Civil Engineering following HUCE’s curriculum.
  • Final 2 years: Study at the University of Huddersfield (UK) following Huddersfield’s curriculum. The degree is awarded by the University of Huddersfield.

b. Architecture (2+2 Model)

  • First 2 years: Study at Hanoi University of Civil Engineering following HUCE’s curriculum.
  • Final 2 years: Study at the University of Huddersfield (UK) following Huddersfield’s curriculum. The degree is awarded by the University of Huddersfield.

c. Logistics and Supply Chains (1+2 Model)

  • First 1 or 2 years: Study at Hanoi University of Civil Engineering following HUCE’s curriculum (depending on the student’s English proficiency).
  • Final 2 years: Study at the University of Huddersfield (UK) following Huddersfield’s curriculum. The degree is awarded by the University of Huddersfield.

5. Registration Process for Credit Transfer

  • Students majoring in Construction Economics, Architecture, Urban Planning, or Hydraulic Engineering who wish to join the program must register with the Faculty of International Education.
  • Application documents required:
    • English language certificate (if available).
    • Academic transcript (certified by the Academic Affairs Office or Faculty).
    • Application form for program participation.
    • Two passport-sized photos (3x4 cm).

6. Tuition Fees and Scholarship Opportunities

At Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (Vietnam)

  • Students pay the standard tuition fees of HUCE.
  • The International Education Department offers additional English and soft skills courses for students (if needed).

At the University of Huddersfield (UK)

  • Tuition fees: £15,000 – £16,000 per year depending on the major.
  • Living expenses: Approximately £5,000 per year.

Scholarship Opportunities:

  • All students receive a minimum scholarship of £2,000 per year.
  • Good students (GPA 7.0 – 8.0) receive a partner scholarship of £3,000 per year.
  • Excellent students (GPA 8.0 and above) receive a partner scholarship of £4,000 per year.

7. Enrollment Quota

  • 10 – 20 students per intake.
