TRANSFER CREDIT COOPERATION PROGRAM

BETWEEN HANOI UNIVERSITY OF CIVIL ENGINEERING AND DEAKIN UNIVERSITY (AUSTRALIA)

1. General Information

  • Deakin University is a public university in Victoria, Australia. It was established in 1974 and named after Australia’s second Prime Minister, Alfred Deakin. The main campus is in Melbourne, just a 30-minute drive from the city center. In 2020, the university was ranked among the Top 250 universities worldwide (according to The World University Ranking).
  • Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE) has signed a Mapping Program agreement with Deakin University (Australia) at the undergraduate level since 2020.
  • Degrees awarded by Deakin University are recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam.

2. Transfer Conditions

  • Undergraduate level: Students who have been admitted to Hanoi University of Civil Engineering can participate in the program from their first or second year.
  • A minimum GPA of 6.5 or higher is required.
  • To transfer to study in Australia, students must achieve an IELTS score of at least 6.0 (with no individual skill below 6.0).

3. Transfer Majors and Structure

  • Civil Engineering: 2+2
  • Construction Economics: 3+2

Other programs such as Computer Science, Environmental Engineering, Architecture, Information Technology, etc., will be transferred according to specific agreements between the universities.


4. Registration Process for Transfer

  • Students who wish to apply should register with the Faculty of International Education for evaluation.
  • Required documents for application include:
    • English proficiency certificate (if available).
    • Academic transcript (verified by the Training Department or Management Faculty).
    • Application form for program participation (2 copies, size 3x4 photo attached).

5. Tuition Fees and Scholarship Opportunities

At Vietnam:

  • Students will pay tuition fees according to the standard rate of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering.
  • The Faculty of International Education will organize preparatory courses in English and soft skills for students (upon request).

At Australia:

  • Undergraduate tuition fees: AUD 17,000 – 19,000 per year.
  • Living expenses: Approximately AUD 20,000 per year.

6. Scholarship Opportunities

      All students will receive a partner scholarship with a 20% tuition fee reduction per year. Students with a GPA of 8.0 or higher will have a better chance of receiving additional scholarships.


7. Admission Quota

  • No admission limit.
