UNIVERSITY TRAINING COLLABORATION PROGRAM
BETWEEN HANOI UNIVERSITY OF CIVIL ENGINEERING AND THE UNIVERSITY OF MISSISSIPPI (USA)

I. General Information - Program Advantages

• The University of Mississippi (UM) is a public national university located in Oxford, Mississippi, USA. Founded in 1844, it is the largest university in Mississippi and ranked among the top 10 safest universities in the USA (according to TheDailyBeast.com). The University of Mississippi is proud to be ranked among the TOP 900 best universities worldwide in 2024 (according to QS University Rankings).
• As one of Vietnam’s leading university training Collaboration programs, approved by top partners in the field of civil engineering, offering outstanding advantages:
  • The program content is adopted from the USA’s top-tier training programs, accredited by the SASCOC (USA) and designed for high practical application.
  • Students will study in modern facilities, under direct mentorship from professors and experts with high academic qualifications. Particularly in Phase 2 in the USA, students will have opportunities to study and intern at large companies and corporations in the USA.
  • Reducing the time spent abroad through the joint program model, significantly cutting costs:
    • First 2 years: Students study basic science courses at Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE).
    • Next 2 years: Students transfer to the University of Mississippi to continue their studies.
  • Many scholarship opportunities are available from both universities for students with outstanding academic performance.

Degree

• Students who successfully complete the program and meet the requirements of the University of Mississippi will be awarded a bachelor’s degree from either the University of Mississippi or Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, depending on the field of study.
• The degree provides high opportunities for pursuing master’s and doctoral programs as well as job opportunities in top international companies.

II. Admission Information

1. Training Programs:

• Civil Engineering
• Computer Science

2. Admission Criteria & Requirements:

• Admission quota: Maximum 100 students (30-50 students per major per year).
• Candidates must meet the following conditions:
  • Be admitted to the collaborative training program with the University of Mississippi (USA) in Civil Engineering or Computer Science (each program has its own admission code).
  • English proficiency:
    • Students who pass the entrance assessment or are directly admitted but have not yet met the required English proficiency, will be provided with training and language courses by HUCE. These courses help students reach the required level before being officially accepted into the main program.
    • English proficiency requirements: Must meet the standards set by the Ministry of Education and Training.

3. Training Model and Degree Awarding:

Phase 1 (2 years):

• Students study at Hanoi University of Civil Engineering under a unified curriculum between HUCE and the University of Mississippi (USA).
• Students receive enhanced English training.

Phase 2 (2 years): Two options are available:

• Option 1 (2 years):
  • Students continue studying at HUCE and graduate with a Vietnamese bachelor's degree from HUCE.
• Option 2 (2 years):
  • Students who meet all academic, language, and financial requirements can transfer to the University of Mississippi (USA) to complete Phase 2.
  • Upon graduation, students will be awarded a bachelor’s degree from the University of Mississippi.

4. Tuition Fees and Scholarship Opportunities:

• Phase 1 (2 years): Tuition and fees follow HUCE’s regulations.
• Phase 2 (2 years):
  • If students transfer to the University of Mississippi, tuition fees and other costs will follow the University of Mississippi’s regulations.
  • Scholarships up to 25% of tuition fees are available at the University of Mississippi, based on the agreement between the two universities.
